About me

Painting in the zone is like hitting a runner’s high.

Once on a long run, I gleefully zoned out and ended up a few blocks off my usual route without even noticing! That same sense of immersion and joy comes over me when I’m in the zone, painting.

As a member of the Minnesota and Wisconsin St. Croix River Valley’s vibrant creative community, I seek ways to make my work distinct. While exploring various media (pastels, acrylic, oil, and many mark making tools) and techniques in my paintings, I embrace the delightful surprises that emerge along the way. I love that sense of discovery and spontaneity—it keeps each piece fresh and full of life, guiding me in ways I couldn’t predict.

I was raised…

in a highly creative family—my mother excelled in poetry and oil painting, while my father was a skilled craftsman with a passion for painting and woodworking. Many of my siblings are also artists, working in pottery, design, woodworking, sculpture, and stained glass.

For 35 years, I held a dynamic career in digital and 3D art and design, visual communications, architecture, and engineering, all while raising a family and painting in my spare time. After retiring, I transitioned to a professional art practice in my home studio.

Ways to see the real stuff.

Sharing, because there’s more to this.

Thirty years ago, I painted this little watercolor of the “seeker”. I didn’t know it then, but I know now, that the seeker is me.

I am an artist because I love it, and I ask God to lead my work, using the talent He gave me to create meaningful connections. In gratitude, I continually work to improve and support worthy causes, knowing I cannot do it alone. Thank you for supporting me!
